Engineering Manager | Enterprise Acceleration
HybridLondon, England, United Kingdom
Job Summary
Own the engineering delivery of the team by setting pace, holding quality standards, and removing blockers to ensure consistent output across active development and system ownership. Partner with Product and commercial stakeholders to define a prioritized roadmap, balancing strategic investment against steady-state ownership of critical internal tooling. Build a high-performing team through deliberate hiring, structured development conversations, and direct performance management. Represent delivery health and technical direction to senior stakeholders across GTM, Sales, Finance, and platform engineering while driving cross-functional alignment to reduce friction. Maintain technical engagement by making sound architectural trade-off decisions and identifying risks early. Shape the team's operating cadence to match work complexity without unnecessary overhead, ensuring engineers can do their best work in a fast-moving environment.
Required Qualifications
- Proven track record as an Engineering Manager with direct line management of engineers building complex software products in a fast-moving environment
- Strong delivery instincts — you have established or rebuilt delivery cadences on teams that needed them, and you know how to maintain velocity when priorities shift
- Technical credibility: you engage comfortably in architectural and system design conversations, your engineers trust your technical judgement, and you are not a pure process manager
- Experience navigating cross-functional stakeholder complexity — you translate engineering trade-offs into commercial language and push back constructively on scope creep
- A thoughtful, deliberate approach to people leadership — you hire with intention, develop engineers systematically, and address underperformance with directness and care
- Comfort managing concurrent workstreams of different types — you can hold both active product development and ongoing system maintenance without either drifting, and you make deliberate trade-off decisions when priorities compete
- Comfort operating with ambiguity and evolving context — you bring structure without imposing rigidity
- A background in B2B SaaS or any environment where engineering decisions have direct commercial or operational impact is welcome
