Job Summary
Engineering Managers at Gigs lead a hands-on, cross-functional team of software engineers to ship impactful features for a modern connectivity platform that powers embedded telecom experiences. You will guide technical execution, shape the team’s long-term direction, and collaborate with Product and Design to define priorities and roadmaps, while fostering an inclusive, high-performance engineering culture. The role involves scaling APIs, abstracting telecom complexity, and ensuring the platform is global from day one, with regular time in hubs and occasional travel for workshops and off-sites.
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience leading engineering teams in high-growth, product-driven environments
- Strong technical background — shipped code at scale and can dive deep when needed
- A track record of growing and developing engineers and effective people management
- Comfort navigating ambiguity and building clarity
- Clear communicator who collaborates with cross-functional stakeholders
- Experience with modern product development practices (Go, Ruby, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, GCP), including CI/CD, observability, and infrastructure as code
- Ideally experience managing and working with remote and distributed teams
