Engineering Manager - Engine Control Software

Job Summary

Lead the Engine Control team, fostering technical excellence and ownership across engine control software, calibration, validation, and software maturity. Set technical direction and priorities with stakeholders while guiding development in combustion control, torque management, drivability, emissions certification, performance, and reliability. Ensure robust software quality through testing on simulation environments, test benches, dynos, and vehicles. Work cross-functionally to solve complex challenges spanning software, electronics, and mechanical systems. Support the professional development of engineers while maintaining hands-on engagement with extreme combustion engine technologies.

Required Qualifications

  • Degree in Engineering, preferably within automotive, controls, mechatronics, electronics or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience within engine control, powertrain software or calibration
  • Previous experience leading engineers, technical teams or complex engineering deliveries
  • Understanding of internal combustion engines, engine management systems and hybrid powertrains
  • Experience with embedded C/C++ and automotive software development
  • Strong systems thinking and troubleshooting skills across software, electrical and mechanical domains

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in homologation is desired
  • Experience from high-performance automotive development, motorsport, Formula Student/FSAE or similarly demanding engineering environments is highly valued
