Job Summary
Lead plant availability by managing a team of 1-3 direct reports, overseeing contractors, and implementing site-wide Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedules. Coordinate mechanical and electrical breakdown responses to minimize downtime, while analyzing failure data to drive long-term corrective actions. Manage engineering budgets, critical spares stock levels, and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure machinery operates at peak performance with the highest safety standards. This role requires a time-served engineering apprenticeship or equivalent qualification and significant heavy manufacturing experience. Salary is £55,000 with standard Monday to Friday hours, plus occasional Saturday coverage.
Required Qualifications
- A time-served Engineering apprenticeship or equivalent qualification e.g. HNC/HND in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- Significant experience working within a heavy manufacturing environment
- Strong fault-finding capabilities across both mechanical and electrical systems
- Proven experience in leading or managing engineering teams
- The ability to utilise a data-led approach for decision-making and stock control
- Permanent, full time role
