Job Summary
Lead a team of engineering professionals responsible for the maintenance, repair, and continuous improvement of the boutique hotel collection. Oversee preventive maintenance programs, building systems, capital improvement projects, vendor relationships, and regulatory compliance to ensure properties remain safe and operating at the highest standards. Manage departmental budgets, develop maintenance strategies, and coordinate emergency call-ins while preserving the historic charm of the 219 guestrooms across the Key West Historic Inns Collection. Work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- Previous management or supervisory experience of three (3) to five (5) years
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and emergency call-ins as business needs require
- Must meet the minimum age requirement of the jurisdiction
- Valid driver's license
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations, fire and life safety standards, environmental compliance, applicable building codes, and hospitality regulations
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, Construction Management, or a related field preferred
- Three (3) to four (4) years of hotel, institutional, commercial building, or HVAC systems experience preferred
- Refrigeration, HVAC certification, EPA certification, journeyman-level experience, or other applicable trade certifications are highly preferred
- Basic computer and administrative skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS), preferred
