Engineering Manager, Data & Analytics

Job Summary
Lead a team of 4-5 engineers as a hands-on player-coach, coaching technical fundamentals and building a product-minded data engineering culture. Own roadmap sequencing by negotiating priorities with product stakeholders, mediating between platform and product demands, and driving the cultural shift toward distributed data ownership. Raise standards on data modeling while guiding the team through an active transition to data streaming. Collaborate with the broader staff engineering community on cross-cutting architectural decisions and build foundations for AI data governance, including guardrails, access control, and safety for agentic analytics. This role requires a senior data engineering background with stakeholder management skills to thrive in negotiation, supported by a competitive compensation package including LTIP and flexible working models.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience at Staff Engineer level (or equivalent) in a data engineering context
- A genuine player-coach mindset
- Strong stakeholder management skills
- Solid data modeling skills
- Experience managing or developing engineers
- Strong communication skills
- Comfort operating across both platform and product delivery contexts
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with data governance for AI agents — guardrails, access control, and safety considerations for agentic analytics
- Familiarity with data lakes, semantic layers, and orchestration tooling at scale
- Experience in a product-led B2B SaaS environment
- Hands-on streaming experience (e.g. Kafka or Flink)
