Engineering Manager, Compression

Job Summary

Lead and supervise a team of engineers supporting gas compression packages, facilities, and aftermarket services. Ensure the integration of safety, reliability, operability, constructability, and maintainability principles into all engineering designs and processes. Manage engineering resources and priorities to support company objectives, customer requirements, and project schedules. Review and approve engineering deliverables, drawings, calculations, specifications, and technical documentation. Provide technical leadership on compressor package design, engine performance, process systems, and facility integration. Oversee equipment sizing and selection for compressors, engines, coolers, vessels, piping, and balance-of-plant equipment. Support fleet optimization initiatives through performance analysis, reliability improvements, and equipment upgrades. Partner with Project Managers and Operations teams for project execution, commissioning, and troubleshooting. Recruit, develop, and mentor engineering personnel while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous learning.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or a related engineering discipline
  • 7–12 years of experience in natural gas compression, midstream operations, oil and gas facilities, or related industries
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Must be able to work in extreme environmental conditions
  • Must be available and able to work at any time / be on call
  • Must be able to bend, climb, and walk on all types of surfaces
  • Must be able to travel to/from site locations
  • Must be able to work under pressure and occasional long or irregular hours

Desired Qualifications

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • Minimum of 3 years of engineering leadership or supervisory experience
  • Demonstrated experience in gas compression package design, facility engineering, and equipment performance optimization
  • Experience supporting field operations, commissioning, troubleshooting, and reliability improvement initiatives
  • Experience with Ariel Performance Program and compressor performance analysis
  • Working knowledge of process simulation software such as ProMax or equivalent
