Job Summary
Lead execution for a lean, agile squad of full-time engineers and contractors by prioritizing deliverables, managing sprint planning, and unblocking development velocity. Translate business needs into technical requirements, enforce high-quality practices including code reviews and CI/CD pipelines, and optimize application performance and reliability. Partner with Product, Design, and corporate stakeholders to convert operational requests into structured specifications and drive clear business-technical discussions. Direct the career growth of a hybrid team while managing backlogs, protecting developers from over-commitment, and ensuring predictable shipping of secure, performant features across Broker Productivity, Agent Client Tools, and CRM domains.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of software engineering experience
- Solid understanding of software design patterns
- Understanding of APIs
- Understanding of modern cloud backend architectures
- 3+ years of experience directly managing software engineering teams
- Proven track record of hiring, developing, and motivating engineering talent
- Practical experience building applications within SaaS
- Practical experience building applications within workflow tools
- Practical experience building applications within CRM
- Practical experience building applications within transactional systems
- Practical experience building applications within large-scale enterprise software products
- Proven ability to manage a team's backlog
- Ability to protect developers from over-commitment
- Ability to make resource trade-offs
- Ability to predictably ship high-quality software
- Demonstrated capability in directing and reviewing the work of both internal FTEs and external agency contractors
- Ensuring quality standards remain high for hybrid teams
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
