Job Summary
Engineering Manager for backend systems powering automated TV and CTV media buying. Lead design, development, and maintenance of core backend systems including data models, GraphQL APIs, and campaign execution services. Partner with Product Management to translate media buying needs into technical requirements, drive uptime (99.9%+), and manage sprint planning, technical debt, and architecture. Provide hands-on technical leadership, foster high-ownership culture, and develop engineers through regular 1:1s and career conversations. Requires 7+ years of software engineering with at least 2 years in management; experience in AdTech/CTV programmatic advertising; proficiency in Python, AWS, Airflow, and queuing systems; strong data modeling and relational database skills; ability to define metrics/SLAs and drive impact.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, including minimum 2 years in an engineering management role
- Experience in AdTech, with expertise in programmatic and CTV streaming advertising (linear TV experience is a strong plus)
- Strong technical background in data modeling, APIs, and relational databases
- Familiarity with Python, AWS, Airflow, and queuing systems
- Data driven decision making: experience defining and using metrics/SLAs to guide priorities and measure impact
- Strong communicator with excellent people skills to interact with various teams inside the company
