Job Summary
Lead a hybrid team of ~8 engineers to enable seamless, secure connectivity between healthcare systems by building and scaling Doctolib's self-service integration platform. Own end-to-end delivery of integration projects ensuring reliability and compliance with national interoperability standards like HL7 and FHIR R5/R6. Drive backend architecture decisions in a JVM-focused stack while championing FHIR-native design and AI adoption through MCP-native patterns. Partner with cross-market engineering teams across France, Germany, and Italy to align on platform priorities and roadmap. Mentor internal talent while driving delivery from external contractors to reduce integration time and unlock 500+ certified integrations for 400K+ health professionals.
Required Qualifications
- at least 6+ years of software engineering experience
- 3+ years of engineering management experience
- experience leading large or hybrid teams (internal engineers + contractors)
- strong background in backend and system-to-system integration
- familiarity with JVM ecosystems (Java, Kotlin)
- experience with healthcare IT integrations
- experience with standards such as HL7 and FHIR
- experience working within regulated, compliance-driven environments
- ability to differentiate management approach between developing internal engineers and driving delivery from external contractor profiles
- proven success in both developing internal engineers and driving delivery from external contractor profiles
- experience leading ~8 engineers
- experience growing internal talent
- experience holding contractors accountable for delivery
- experience shaping how internal and contractor teams work together
