Job Summary
Senior Engineering Manager for Automation & Balance of Plant in hydroelectric projects. Leads multidiscipline engineering teams to deliver safe, reliable, and cost-effective engineered solutions that meet customer requirements and defined standards. Responsible for supervision/mentorship of engineers, guidance on routine design problems, and driving excellence across design, planning, testing, commissioning, and operations. Acts as internal/external spokesperson, coordinates optimization efforts with an integrated approach to modernization/new projects, and supports OTO/OTC processes, training, RCA/CAR initiatives, and Lessons Learned. Focuses on delivering high-quality, on-time deliverables, with emphasis on safety, quality, schedule adherence, and long-term product success.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Engineering
- Minimum 15 years of relevant work experience in Automation and/or Balance of Plant engineering (energy/hydro power)
- Minimum 10 years as engineering lead/manager or equivalent
- Advanced degree preferred (MS/Master's)
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple teams and deliver complex projects on time and within budget
- Experience with design reviews, FMEA, RCA/CAR processes
- Experience with commissioning and field testing of hydroelectric solutions
- Proven track record of safe, reliable and cost-effective engineering solutions
- Ability to develop schedules and estimates in Offer to Order (OTO) and implement in OTC
- Knowledge of engineering standards and governance
- Ability to coordinate cross-functional teams across global sites
- Travel willingness
