Job Summary
Lead, mentor, and grow a team of frontend and backend software engineers through coaching, regular feedback, and hiring. Own delivery for major customer-facing initiatives from concept through production while partnering with Product, Design, Firmware, and other engineering teams to define roadmaps. Drive technical direction and empower engineers to make architectural decisions for highly reliable, observable, and scalable distributed systems powering millions of real-time events. Foster engineering excellence through thoughtful code reviews, design discussions, and operational discipline. Improve engineering processes and team health while maintaining a high quality bar. Participate in hiring to build an exceptional engineering organization.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of professional software engineering experience
- significant experience in Python, Go, or React
- 1+ years managing software engineers
- Experience building production software across both frontend and backend systems
- Strong software architecture and system design skills
- Experience designing and operating distributed systems in production
- Demonstrated ability to lead large cross-functional technical projects
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to attract, hire, mentor, and retain exceptional engineers
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
