Job Summary
Lead product, process, tooling, equipment, and controls engineering by solving complex problems and establishing solid manufacturing processes. Develop engineers who solve bigger problems, think critically, and take ownership while coaching early-career talent into next-level leaders. Improve how engineering prioritizes work, executes projects, and launches products to reduce dependence on individual heroics. Lead cross-functional initiatives that strengthen the production system and drive business growth by identifying new markets and capabilities. Build competitive advantage through manufacturing improvements that enhance quality, capacity, and technical differentiation. Work closely with the VP of Engineering to expand capability across technical, operational, commercial, and leadership challenges.
Required Qualifications
- A strong mechanical engineering foundation and sound engineering judgment
- Experience leading meaningful technical projects or teams
- The ability to balance technical performance, manufacturability, cost, and business objectives
- Experience improving products, manufacturing systems, or engineering processes
- Comfort making decisions with incomplete information and adjusting quickly as new information becomes available
- Strong communication and collaboration across engineering, manufacturing, quality, suppliers, customers, and commercial teams
- A player-coach mindset. Willing to be hands-on when needed, but ultimately focused on building capability in others
- Experience with automotive manufacturing, APQP, PPAP, SolidWorks, GD&T, DFMEA, DVP&R, or similar engineering disciplines
