Job Summary
Execute complex product design projects for window and door products with minimal supervision while providing technical direction to the team. Deliver product design support and solutions targeting business growth, operational excellence, safety, quality, delivery, and cost in manufacturing. Provide technical coaching on project planning, mechanical design analysis, and test plan design to direct reports. Act as a liaison to coordinate enterprise RD&I initiatives and manage detailed timelines for cross-functional projects. Solve practical problems where limited standardization exists and establish an environment conducive to high morale and performance.
Required Qualifications
- BS in mechanical engineering or equivalent mechanical engineering experience
- 5-7 years of experience in R&D design
- Experience in and passion for leading and developing a high-performance team
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong problem solving skills
- Proficiency in project management methodologies with demonstrated ability to drive product development projects to completion
- Self-motivated with strong intellectual curiosity
- Knowledge of product development, design specification, and documentation methods
- Travel as required
