Job Summary
Create and enter new Part Numbers into the ERP System, generate CAD models and drawings using SolidWorks, and perform mechanical engineering duties including 3D layout, light fabrication, assembly, and testing. Handle part design independently to completion, write test protocols, and support analytical tools based on project requirements. Work with mechanical engineers to support design activities and collaborate with digital vendors to support design for manufacturing. This 24-hour-per-week internship reports to a Senior Project Engineer or Engineering Manager and requires a Sophomore year in an ABET-accredited mechanical engineering program.
Required Qualifications
- Completed Sophomore year in ABET accredited in mechanical engineering, Solidworks design software, or other related fields
- Experience using SolidWorks
- Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
