Job Summary
Lean-focused Continuous Improvement Engineering Intern/Co-op supporting the deployment, evaluation, and implementation of Lean at the Marmon Transportation Group. The role involves promoting and facilitating continuous improvement methods (e.g., LEAN tools, root cause analysis, waste reduction) to improve safety, quality, performance, and cost, and requires collaboration with all plant levels. Responsibilities include identifying process gaps, facilitating Value Stream Maps and Kaizen/Impact Events, providing training and mentoring, coaching process owners in Lean methods to achieve operational excellence, establishing and tracking performance measures, and coordinating with site leadership on assessments and future-state initiatives. The position involves travel to other facilities (estimated 20-50%) and is located in the Detroit-Chicagoland area with additional Marmon locations across the Midwest, Carolinas, and Virginia. Pay range: 18.40 - 27.60 per hour. This is a development role for individuals aspiring to grow leadership and technical skills in continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
- Intern/Co-op designations or equivalent
- Pursuing Engineering degree with interest in Lean/Continuous Improvement
