Job Summary
Engineering Interface Manager – serves as the single point of contact between the GSI Global Engineering Center and assigned GSI NSE Region, directing engineering activities, supervising engineers, allocating resources, ensuring on-time delivery within budget and quality, coordinating with Global Engineering Center discipline leaders and project lead engineers, implementing design strategies, managing changes, and ensuring QA compliance. The role requires leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders across regions; travel of 3–4 weeks per quarter is expected to fulfill responsibilities and align regional needs. Responsibilities include developing schedules, estimating manhour costs, managing POs/invoices/amendments, owning project plans, mobilization planning, risk and quality management, mentoring less-experienced colleagues, and driving continuous improvement and adherence to standards.
Required Qualifications
- Engineering degree or equivalent including power systems and power electronics subjects or proven equivalent knowledge and / or experience in Electrical Substations business (AIS/GIS/HVDC/FACTS/STATCOM/Onshore/Offshore/Renewable/etc.)
- Min 10+ years of design / project engineering experience in the EHV/HV electrical substations (AIS/GIS/HVDC/FACTS/STATCOM/Onshore/Offshore/Renewable/etc.)
- Min 5+ Years of People Management role
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, experienced in creating and presenting to stakeholders
- Ability to work to deadlines under pressure while maintaining safety, quality and engineering integrity
- Experience in technical leadership
- Willingness to travel globally
