Engineering Group Manager - Display Integration

Job Summary

Lead a team of display integration engineers, providing technical direction, prioritization, coaching, and performance management across the full product lifecycle from concept through production support. Own execution of display integration activities, including system architecture, packaging, interfaces, and sourcing strategies for clusters, center stacks, and passenger displays. Drive cross-functional collaboration with Design Studio, Interior Systems, Electrical Hardware, Software, Validation, Purchasing, and Manufacturing to resolve feasibility assessments, integration tradeoffs, and technical issues. Monitor deliverables, guide supplier alignment, and lead troubleshooting for mechanical, electrical, and packaging challenges. Ensure program imperatives for cost, quality, and timing are met while championing continuous improvement and institutionalizing best practices.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering
  • Minimum 10+ years of automotive engineering experience
  • Significant experience in display systems, electrical or mechatronic products, and vehicle integration
  • Experience leading cross-functional product development and integration programs through concept, sourcing, development, validation, launch, and production
  • Experience with display technologies and associated module execution, including LCD, OLED, touch systems, cover lens integration, and related supplier ecosystems
  • Strong understanding of vehicle integration processes, engineering change management, validation planning, failure mode analysis, and launch execution
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex technical issues involving hardware, software, packaging, supplier execution, and cross-functional interfaces
  • Understanding of requirements engineering, DFMEA/PFMEA, preliminary hazard analyses, and verification and validation processes
  • Working knowledge of embedded software development, testing, and associated tools as they relate to display integration
  • Strong understanding of engineering theory and principles of operation for mechanical and electrical systems
  • Thorough knowledge of product development, test engineering, manufacturing, assembly operations, and GM engineering processes and procedures
  • Highly developed oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally within Displays and across other disciplines (SMTs)
  • Demonstrated problem-solving ability in ambiguous, high-complexity environments
  • High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others, motivate employees, and drive strong execution outcomes
  • Very high level of analytical and strategic problem-solving capability where issues are unusual, complex, and cross-functional
  • This role is categorized as hybrid
  • The selected candidate is expected to report to a specific location at least 3 times a week
  • The selected candidate will be required to travel <25%

Desired Qualifications

  • Master's degree
  • Previous industry experience with display integration and display technologies
  • Experience leading complex interior-display programs requiring close coordination with Studio, Interior, Program Teams, and suppliers
  • Experience with issue investigation using logs, data-based problem solving, and structured root cause methods relevant to display systems
  • Experience with design and analysis tools such as Mentor Graphics, MathCad, PSpice, and Saber
  • Experience managing global or multi-hub engineering execution
