Job Summary
Prepare project technical documents including environmental reports, specifications, work plans, and drawings for review. Conduct field work and oversight for environmental investigations and remediation activities, managing site investigations, contractor operations, drilling, soil and groundwater sampling, and excavation. Coordinate project scheduling with internal staff, external contractors, and public entities to obtain permits. Manage multiple tasks while maintaining high attention to detail, with flexibility for extended days and variable weather at remote sites. Requires a Bachelor of Environmental or Civil Engineering degree. This role supports brownfield redevelopment projects across Ontario for public, private, and federal sectors.
Required Qualifications
- Relevant Bachelor of Environmental/Civil Engineering or equivalent
- Must be able to manage multiple tasks while maintaining a high degree of attention to detail
- Flexible with project types and responsibilities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to convey technical information clearly to diverse audiences
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and be highly communicative
- Ability to manage your schedule
- Valid driver's license (an MVR check will be performed prior to hire)
- Willingness to undertake field work as required for the role
- Field activities may include extended days, variable weather conditions, and work at remote sites
Desired Qualifications
- Ability to obtain a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) designation in Waterloo is an asset
- 0-2 years' of experience in the environmental engineering field
- Experience working in a construction setting is an asset
