Job Summary
Engineering Geologist role based in Auckland, NZ, focusing on leading site investigations (drilling, CPTs, geophysics, test pits, mapping), coordinating field activities, developing engineering geological models, and contributing to geotechnical assessments and client-facing reports. You’ll work within a multidisciplinary team with senior staff to manage ground risk, interpret ground conditions, and support design and construction monitoring. Requires a Geology/Engineering Geology degree, 4–7 years in engineering geology consulting with at least 3 years in Auckland, strong GIS/interpretation/reporting skills, chartered status or progress toward it, a full NZ driver’s license, and a strong HSE mindset. Required Qualifications
- Degree in Geology or Engineering Geology
- Around 4–7 years’ experience within engineering geology consulting with a minimum of 3 years' experience in Auckland
- Strong geomorphic mapping and geological logging capability
- Experience with GIS, LeapFrog, Rocscience, gINT/OpenGround or similar
- Engineering geological interpretation and reporting skills
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Chartered status or working toward chartership viewed favourably
- Full NZ driver’s licence and strong HSE mindset
