Job Summary
Lead and develop the PSBU chief engineers supporting propulsion programs to deliver technically excellent, safe, and compliant engineering solutions. Define strategic roadmaps and technical baselines for capture efforts; drive risk evaluation and ownership of long-term program success; chair the PS Flight Readiness Review Board and participate as a voting member on program milestone reviews and technical boards. Provide independent technical guidance to chief engineers, allocate PS technical resources to minimize risk and maximize opportunities, and coordinate with Central Region Engineering leadership. Support PSBU leadership with broad technical expertise, engage in proposal responses, and collaborate with other divisions to ensure designs and hardware meet customer requirements. Travel up to 25%; ensure adherence to safety, ethics, and continuous improvement while championing collaboration and execution across the organization.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field
- 20+ years of applicable experience OR Master’s degree with 18+ years OR PhD with 14+ years
- Active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance or ability to obtain
- Broad understanding of solid rocket motor design, performance, development, and production
- Minimum of 5 years of experience managing or leading technical teams
- Technical engineering or previous Chief Engineer experience
- Well-versed in system engineering processes
- Ability to travel 25%
