Job Summary
Design and develop bumper, fascia, grille, and trim components from concept through production using NX CAD software and Siemens Teamcenter. Create 3D models and assemblies while managing design data integrity and version control. Evaluate design feasibility, packaging, and vehicle integration through virtual mockups, considering manufacturing processes like extrusion, injection molding, and stamping. Troubleshoot design and integration issues throughout the product development lifecycle and present technical specifications to cross-functional teams. Participate in design reviews to provide recommendations and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. This hybrid role requires onsite work at the Warren Tech Center three days per week.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering technology, design engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- Experience designing or developing automotive exterior components, particularly bumpers, fascias, grilles, or trim
- Advanced proficiency with NX or comparable CAD software
- Experience using Siemens Teamcenter or a comparable product data-management system
- Working knowledge of extrusion, injection molding, stamping, and machining processes
- Experience with virtual integration, visualization mockups, or comparable digital vehicle-integration tools
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Strong communication, collaboration, and presentation skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Onsite work in Warren, Michigan, in accordance with GM's hybrid work policy (at least three days per week)
- No need for GM immigration sponsorship
