Job Summary
Engineering Delivery Manager (hybrid in Arlington, VA) serves as the single-point engineering authority for highly complex, software-centric bids and delivery programs. Defines and governs the end-to-end engineering strategy, lifecycle, and enabling processes/tools; authors and maintains the Systems Engineering Management Plan (SEMP); leads co-engineering activities; ensures validation prior to cost and gate approvals; oversees requirements management, software and systems engineering, verification/validation, certification, and deployment; applies Design-to-Cost and Design-for-Performance principles; uses planning/scheduling/control disciplines (WBS/OBS, milestones, EVM); defines KPIs/dashboards to drive continuous improvement across bids and projects.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline
- minimum of 9 years of relevant professional experience, or 10+ years leading multidisciplinary engineering teams
- Extensive experience leading delivery of large-scale, software-intensive systems in aerospace/defense or similarly regulated environments
- Proven leadership managing and governing large, multidisciplinary engineering organizations
- Deep end-to-end mastery of the engineering lifecycle (system and software architecture, requirements and specification engineering, development, integration, qualification, verification, validation, certification, deployment)
- Experience with safety-critical software and software assurance frameworks (e.g., DO-178B/C, ED-109A)
- Experience with Bid, Capture, and Proposal cycles and collaboration with Sales/Bid teams
- Post-offer background check and US work authorization
- US Person as defined by law
- Comfort with multi-site and multi-country coordination
- Knowledge of cost/schedule estimation and Earned Value Management (EVM)
- Compliance with DO-178B/C and related safety/regulatory standards
- Delivery readiness across phases and transition to operations
