Job Summary
Prepare and paint building surfaces, measure quantities for repairs, and install vinyl wall coverings throughout the facility. Mix paint colors to match existing finishes, hang wall coverings of various weights, and maintain masonry surfaces by caulking, grouting, and setting tiles. Repair wood surfaces requiring staining and varnishing, while troubleshooting guest room, meeting space, and back-of-house systems including electrical, mechanical, and HVAC. Read blueprints and schematics to complete assigned maintenance tasks across the 451-room hotel and 30,000 sq. ft. of meeting space. Work weekends and holidays as required, with a minimum of two years building maintenance experience and hotel experience preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to work in various weather climates
- Must have the ability to stoop, kneel or bend
- Must be able to lift, push or pull up to 50 lbs
- Must be able to differentiate between colors
- Must be able to work weekends and holidays as required
- Must be able to work heights in excess of 15 feet
- Experience in drywall repairs, texture, and finishing
- Previous experience in the hotel/service industry
- Strong trouble-shooting skills in all areas of maintenance in guest rooms, meeting space, and front-of-the-house areas, as well as back-of-the-house areas including kitchen, laundry, electrical, mechanical, and HVAC systems
- Ability to read blueprints and schematics
- Minimum of 2 years of building maintenance experience
- Strong working knowledge of all major building systems, including life-safety systems
- Good communication skills
- Strong leadership skills
- Willingness to work different shifts
