Engineer -Transportation Planning

Job Summary
Interpret government codes and ordinances while initiating corrective actions for regulatory deficiencies. Assist with updating the Comprehensive Plan, transportation plan, and land development regulations. Act as a liaison between community groups, agencies, developers, and elected officials to develop neighborhood plans. Conduct reviews of development applications, plats, permits, site plans, variance requests, and rezonings. Perform extensive research in specific project areas and write formal technical reports. Identify community problems and opportunities for mitigation through better planning. Develop long-range community plans and strategies for economic and land-use development. Evaluate adequacy of community facilities and recommend priorities, schedules, and funding sources for public improvements. Requires a Bachelor's or Master's in Transport Planning, EC/GDC mandate experience, and SATURN certification.
