Job Summary
Conduct steady-state, transient stability, and electromagnetic transient analyses to support system reliability and optimize transmission planning. Develop dynamic stability models for load shedding schemes and reactive devices while ensuring compliance with NERC, ERCOT, and FERC requirements. Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to submit ERCOT Regional Planning Group documents and resolve grid performance issues. Actively participate in industry working groups to guide practices and address transmission deficiencies. Perform power system simulations using tools like PSSE and Python to identify stability risks and improve planning efficiency.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science or higher in Electrical Engineering or related field
- Minimum two (2) years of electrical utility experience in engineering, planning, operations or operations support role
- Minimum four (4) years of electrical utility experience in engineering, planning, operations or operations support role
- Minimum six (6) years of electrical utility experience in engineering, planning, operations or operations support role
- This is a hybrid position, with 3 office days minimum
- based in our 777 Main St – Fort Worth location

Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with the Oncor transmission system
- Familiarity with ERCOT practices associated with ERCOT transmission planning, operation, and modeling
- Familiarity with the ERCOT Planning Guide
- Familiarity with Operating Guides
- Familiarity with Protocols
- Familiarity with Power System Simulator for Engineering (PSSE)
- Familiarity with ASPEN
- Familiarity with Power Systems Computer-aided Design (PSCAD)
- Familiarity with Python tools
