Job Summary
Engineer Systems role in Melbourne, FL focusing on definition, design, integration, and verification of complex systems-of-systems architectures using MBSE. Responsibilities include developing and refining system architectures/models (SysML or equivalent), conducting trade studies and simulations, managing requirements traceability, generating design specifications, coordinating integration activities, deriving test cases, maintaining model repositories, performing design reviews, and communicating complex concepts to stakeholders. The position emphasizes cross-functional collaboration with hardware, software, firmware, test, and program management, with opportunities to apply MBSE to operational military use cases (including advanced communications, machine learning, and future wireless technologies) and to contribute to proposals and technical documentation. The role offers a flexible work arrangement, 9/80 schedule with every other Friday off, and requires relocation considerations and travel (approximately 10%). Must have a STEM degree with corresponding experience or equivalent and the ability to obtain higher-level clearances.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in a STEM discipline and 2 years of related professional/military experience, OR Master of Science in a STEM discipline and 0 years, OR STEM Ph.D. and 0 year of related professional/military experience
- Active US Government Secret clearance (with a background investigation within the past 6 years or enrolled into Continuous Evaluation)
- Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Top Secret clearance and Special Access Program (SAP) within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs
- Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) techniques and tools within the Systems Engineering life cycle
- Ability to work across multiple engineering disciplines
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and strong interpersonal skills
- Preferred: Current Top Secret Clearance
- Experience applying commercial products to military applications
