Job Summary
Design and develop automation solutions for inline metrology, inspection, and CZT sensor handling in a semiconductor manufacturing environment. Lead system design and architecture, develop PLC/IPC-based control systems, evaluate machine vision and robotics integrations, lead system integration and validation (FAT/SAT), connect equipment to MES/SCADA, and collaborate across mechanical, electrical, and process engineering teams to improve yield, capacity, and operational efficiency. The role involves cross-functional collaboration, hands-on problem solving on the manufacturing floor, and contributing to production ramp with high ownership across controls, machine vision, robotics, and factory systems.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in mechatronics, electrical engineering, systems engineering or an equivalent degree of education & combined work experience
- 5–8+ years of experience in automation or controls engineering in a semiconductor or high-tech manufacturing environment
- Experience with PLC programming and industrial automation systems
- Experience with motion control systems (servo drives, linear stages, robotics, pneumatics)
- Familiarity with machine vision systems (e.g., Cognex, Keyence, Halcon, OpenCV)
- Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (EtherCAT, Profinet, OPC UA, Modbus)
- Hands-on experience with system commissioning, debugging, and troubleshooting
- Exposure to C/C++, Python, or C# for automation/inspection applications
- Understanding & basic exposure to CAD tools (SolidWorks, AutoCAD)
- Bachelor’s degree in mechatronics/electrical/systems engineering or equivalent
- Salary Range: CAD 90,000 - 115,000 (not USD)
