Job Summary
Engineer - Software role focused on owning end-to-end ETRM IT solutions for Origin’s energy trading platforms. Responsibilities include design, development, testing, and deployment across cloud and on-prem environments; delivering 2nd/3rd line application support with automation and AI-assisted tooling; modernising platforms with AI/ML capabilities; exploring AI tools to enhance trading operations and decision support; collaborating with stakeholders to ensure alignment; driving continuous improvement in systems, processes, and documentation. Key skills include strong C# and .NET development, cloud experience (AWS/Azure) with serverless like Lambda, advanced SQL (Microsoft SQL Server) and database design/optimisation, practical AI/ML exposure (LLMs, predictive modelling, intelligent automation), experience with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude), and excellent communication with a collaborative, after-hours support mindset.
