Job Summary
Design, develop, and unit test new mobile Android software by applying computer science techniques and XPO standardized processes. Collaborate with architects, systems engineers, and operations analysts to code review, troubleshoot production issues, and implement solutions for distributed data services using REST APIs and messaging buses. Evaluate and select process patterns, programming constructs, and data storage methods to satisfy business requirements while documenting systems according to department standards. Introduce new industry standards and techniques to improve software solutions, ensuring adherence to agile development and rapid programming best practices.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field or equivalent work or military experience
- 1 year of experience in software solutions development preferably in medium to large corporate environments or commercial software companies
- 1+ years of mobile Android application development
- Proficient knowledge of at least one of the following: C#, Xamarin/Maui, React Native
- Experience with the industry standard IDEs – Visual Studio & VS Code
- Experience with creating and consuming distributed data services (REST APIs, Messaging Buses)
- Experience with SQL and relational databases (SQL server, Oracle, MySQL)
- Experience with data marshalling, data transformation, and data representation technologies (Model entities, JSON, HTML, XML, Stylesheets)
- Experience with rapid programming, agile development, software patterning, and refactoring techniques
- Experience with process communication techniques (shared memory, message queues, data streams, semaphores)
- Experience with TeamCity, GIT and Enterprise Git Hub
- Experience in Web Services development using HTTP, REST
- Experience with asynchronous messaging frameworks for application integration
Desired Qualifications
- Google Firebase
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in technical settings and with internal management
- Well-developed active listening and presentation skills
- Solid knowledge of IT software development life cycle methodologies and processes, including usage of source control tools
- Logistics industry experience
- Experience with multithreaded application design
