Job Summary
Engineer to join the Skin + Me Operations Team for a full-time role at the North Acton factory. You will be part of the end-to-end project process—from design, order and build of new machinery and infrastructure, through installation, testing, modification, upgrades and development of machinery. The ideal candidate has a degree in mechanical engineering, controls and automation, or electrical engineering, is highly capable at CAD (preferably Solidworks), and has experience with manufacturing techniques (laser cutting, CNC, injection moulding) and PLC programming or coding. Expect to deliver solutions to complex engineering challenges, provide hands-on technical support, and work on a diverse range of projects across the factory with strong problem-solving and creativity in a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in mechanical engineering, controls and automation, electrical or similar
- Highly competent at 3D modelling in CAD packages (Solidworks preferred)
- Experience in manufacturing techniques (laser cutting, CNC, injection moulding) and product packaging
- Knowledge of control motion systems (actuators, pneumatics, bearings)
- Ideally PLC programming or coding experience
- 4+ years of engineering experience preferred (open to strong candidates at different career stages)
- Ability to work on end-to-end engineering projects from design to installation and testing
- Strong problem-solving and creative solution implementation in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
