Job Summary
Quality Assurance engineer responsible for manual and automated testing of enterprise applications. Focus on automating QA processes and building automation for large-scale distributed systems. Responsibilities include participating in test design, planning, and execution, developing robust automated tests (UI & API) using Selenium (Java), RestAssured, Cucumber (BDD), TestNG, and Maven; collaborating with DevOps/infrastructure; performing defect management; and upskilling in a challenging environment. Requires 1-3 years of hands-on testing experience and a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Systems Management is preferred. This is a hybrid role based in Chennai, India with in-person and remote work components.
Required Qualifications
- 1-3 years of hands-on experience in all phases of testing life cycle (requirements gathering, designing, and developing complex enterprise applications) including automation test development and defect management
- Automation development experience with test tools/frameworks: Selenium (Java), RestAssured, Cucumber (BDD), TestNG, Maven
- Knowledge of source code versioning (Git) and CI/CD tools; working knowledge of Linux/Unix and shell scripting; knowledge of Ansible is a plus
- Understanding of web services (HTTP, SOAP/REST) and data formats like JSON and XML; basic SQL queries for database testing
- Engineering/ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Systems Management preferred
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams; experience in UI & API test automation; experience in test planning, design, and execution
- Experience contributing to test framework design, unit test coverage, and reusable automated tests
- Experience in distributed systems and large-scale applications; willingness to work in a hybrid office environment in Chennai, India
- Awareness of SDLC/STLC methodologies and Agile/Waterfall software development processes
