Job Summary
Materials and Process Engineer to analyze, research, and develop materials and related application processes for engineering design of structures, systems, and subsystems. Apply chemistry, physics, and materials science to investigate material issues and provide solutions. Collaborate in a team environment performing detailed technical reviews of drawings, specifications, and manufacturing plans. Location in Palmdale, CA; travel up to 10%. Relocation assistance may be available. Requires active US government clearance and ability to obtain SAP clearance. Preferred background includes experience with composite pre-pregs, honeycombs, adhesives, aircraft structure fabrication/repair, and materials obsolescence; advanced degrees (MS/PhD) and experience with military aircraft or LO materials. Primary and secondary salary ranges: $73,100–$109,700 and $90,300–$135,500 respectively; bonuses and benefits may apply.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) with a minimum of 2 years of experience in Aerospace structural design OR an MS degree in STEM with 0 years of related experience (for Engineer)
- Bachelor's in STEM with minimum 5 years of experience OR MS with 3 years OR PhD with 0 years related experience (for Principal Engineer)
- Active US Government clearance with background investigation within past 6 years or enrolled in Continuous Evaluation; ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance
