Job Summary
Platform Engineer on Trainlineās Atlas team responsible for delivering improvements to the infrastructure platform using Terraform on AWS, applying secure-by-default and least-privilege principles, and developing automation with Node.js or Python. Collaborates with Senior Platform Engineers, Tech Leads and Delivery Managers to understand priorities, implement changes via CI/CD pipelines, and ensure reliable, scalable deployment of services across the Trainline platform. The role emphasizes cross-functional collaboration, cloud security best practices, and contributing to automation tooling to reduce manual work while improving delivery quality.
Required Qualifications
- Good experience with AWS services such as ECS, Lambda, IAM or CloudFront
- Experience delivering infrastructure changes using Terraform
- Ability to deliver defined tasks with minimal supervision
- Experience using Node.js or Python for automation, scripting or integration tasks
- A thoughtful approach to secure engineering, including least-privilege access and secure-by-default infrastructure practices
- Experience using AI tooling to support day-to-day work
- Collaborative working style in agile, delivery-focused teams
- Helpful experience with Git-based CI/CD pipelines, multi-account AWS environments, CDN, WAF or OIDC
