Job Summary
Mine Production Engineer role responsible for producing the Weekly Plan to maintain planned grades and production tonnes, producing accurate mine scheduling information, completing production area maps for grade control, and communicating planning materials to Mine Planning, Mine and Plant Operations, and Field Maintenance. Responsibilities include creating maps and machine guidance files for dig and dump plans, reconciling weekly plans, coordinating with Supervisors and Superintendents to implement the plan, managing plan deviations, and maintaining effective site-to-peer communication. Requires tertiary Mining Engineering qualifications, at least 2 years of short-term mine planning experience, and strong skills in truck/loader scheduling, CAD mining software (Deswik or similar), SAP or similar software, and advanced Excel/Office tools; knowledge of mining legislation and industry practices is desired. The role is residential in Weipa, Queensland, Australia with domestic relocation assistance and remote-area allowances.
Required Qualifications
- Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering or related discipline
- 2 years’ experience as a short term mine planning engineer
- Experience in planning for bauxite operations would be highly regarded
- Detailed understanding of Truck / Loader scheduling and operation
- Proficiency in CAD mining software (Deswik or similar)
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint
- Knowledge of SAP or similar software
- Knowledge of mining legislation and industry practices
