Job Summary
Design, develop, and maintain robust mechanical designs for new products and existing designs, generating design inputs and outputs including mechanical drawings and documentation. Support R&D investigations, regulatory responses, and field issues related to mechanical systems while executing component and system-level troubleshooting. Own hardware improvement projects to increase quality, reduce product variation, and utilize appropriate manufacturing technologies with guidance from Senior Engineers. Contribute to continuous improvement of design inputs, outputs, and verification practices. This role is on-site in Vista, CA, with up to 10% global travel required.
Required Qualifications
- BS or MS in Mechanical, Electrical, Systems, Biomedical, Physics or similar discipline or equivalent work experience
- Experience working with CAD programs such as SolidWorks or Creo
- 2+ years of experience in an applicable engineering discipline (Mechanical, Electrical, Systems, Biomedical Engineer or similar discipline) or equivalent experience
- Ability to travel globally up to 10% of the year
- Ability to lift, move or carry equipment up to 35 lbs
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with motion control, optical systems and digital imaging
- Knowledge and experience with GMP, ISO, and FDA regulatory standards
- Measurement and analysis techniques for mechanical components and assemblies
