Job Summary
Create definitions for generator parts, modules, and assemblies using 2D cross sections, Model Based Definition, and 3D reusable models in a linked environment. Establish and agree upon component interfaces with mating engineering teams, then save applicable models to the Digital Assembly while maintaining up-to-date digital builds. Export tag definitions based on jurisdiction and exportability classifications, ensuring all work adheres to GE policies, engineering standards, and security requirements. Apply strong knowledge of GD&T, NX, and PLM processes to support analysis, manufacturing, quality, and inspection needs within cost, quality, and schedule constraints.
Required Qualifications
- For roles outside of the USA- This role requires basic experience in the Engineering/Technology & Product Definition
- Knowledge level is comparable to a Bachelor's degree/Diploma from an accredited university or college ( or a high school diploma with relevant experience)
- Minimum of 3-5 years of mechanical engineering experience
- Familiar to Hydro Generator component definition
- advanced GD&T skills
- basic knowledge of ISO/ASME standards
- proficient knowledge of NX software
- Knowledge of International standards related to material specification
- Basic understanding of PLM processes
Desired Qualifications
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Strong knowledge in Hydro products / components/ Systems
- Strong knowledge of computer aided design (CAD), preferably in Siemens NX
- Ability to work independently and capable of solving technical issues related to generator
- Good level of understanding in computer aided manufacturing (CAM) and manufacturing processes
- Good level of understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing as it relates to individual parts and overall assemblies (ANSI Y14.5)
