Job Summary
Conduct underground engineering reviews and design substation conduit systems, cable exits, and duct networks for commercial, industrial, and bridge projects using AutoCAD, CREWS, and GIS. Manage jackbore installations and coordinate with third parties for right-of-way permits, while performing hazard dispatch, damage assessment, and storm restoration activities. Provide technical support to construction crews, verify safety standards, and develop schedule and cost estimates for department budget processes.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (electrical, mechanical or civil) from an ABET accredited school
- 0 to two (2) years engineering experience for Engineer II
- minimum three (3) years of engineering experience for an Engineer III
- minimum five (5) years engineering experience for Engineer IV
- minimum seven (7) years engineering experience for Engineer V
- Understanding of electrical engineering and utility power system concepts
- Understanding of the company's planning and protection criteria
- Strong oral and written communication skills, with an emphasis on understandable and clear technical writing and presentation skills
- Ability to work independently and in team environments
- Working knowledge of the company's transmission and distribution (T&D) construction and maintenance standards, practices, procedures, work methods, materials, equipment and tools
- Solid computer skills with competency in Microsoft Office products
- good working knowledge of AutoCAD, CREWS and GIS software systems
- Ability to interpret detailed engineering drawings to a high degree
- Detail-oriented, accurate and able to understand and interpret complex technical information
- Strong customer service skills
- Must possess and maintain a valid state issued driver's license
- Possess moderate knowledge, maturity and decision making skills regarding civil problems and analyzing complex information

- Advanced degree
- possession of a Professional Engineering(PE) license
- Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certificate
