Job Summary
Assist with roadway design plans, profiles, and cross sections using AutoCAD Civil 3D, while supporting grading, drainage, utilities, and sewer systems. Prepare calculations, quantities, and exhibits for design development, and draft technical memoranda, specifications, and reports. Contribute to cost and quantity takeoffs, perform quality control checks on documents, and coordinate with project teams across disciplines. Support permitting, agency coordination, and construction observation tasks, including responding to RFIs. Participate in client meetings, internal reviews, and project updates as appropriate. This role requires an EIT with 2–4 years of civil engineering experience and offers a competitive salary, comprehensive benefits, and professional development opportunities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or ability to obtain within a defined timeframe
- 2–4 years of relevant civil engineering experience, with an emphasis on roadway or transportation design
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Familiarity with roadway geometry, drainage design, and utility coordination concepts
- Ability to follow established design standards, specifications, and agency requirements
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Organized, detail-oriented, and motivated to grow technically and professionally
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and maintain positive working relationships
Desired Qualifications
- experience with Bluebeam and Microsoft Office preferred
- Exposure to municipal or state transportation projects preferred
- Familiarity with local, state, or federal agency design standards preferred
- Experience supporting both public and private sector projects preferred
