Job Summary
Assist with roadway design plans, profiles, and cross sections using AutoCAD Civil 3D while supporting grading, drainage, utilities, and sewer system tasks. Prepare calculations, quantities, and exhibits for design development, and develop technical memoranda, specifications, and reports. Support permitting and agency coordination, contribute to cost and quantity takeoffs, and perform quality control checks on plans under supervision. Coordinate with multi-disciplinary project teams and participate in client meetings, internal reviews, and construction observation tasks. This role offers a competitive base salary of $80,000–$90,000 per year, full-time status in Taylorsville, UT, and includes 401(k) matching, professional development, and licensure support.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or ability to obtain within a defined timeframe
- 2–4 years of relevant civil engineering experience, with an emphasis on roadway or transportation design
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Familiarity with roadway geometry, drainage design, and utility coordination concepts
- Ability to follow established design standards, specifications, and agency requirements
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Organized, detail-oriented, and motivated to grow technically and professionally
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and maintain positive working relationships
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with Bluebeam and Microsoft Office
- Exposure to municipal or state transportation projects
- Familiarity with local, state, or federal agency design standards
