Job Summary

Prepare designs for underground construction projects, including detailed technical drawings, dewatering system design, and material movement circuits. Order and track construction materials, coordinate off-site fabrication, and manage on-site contractors while presenting construction methodology to underground personnel. Conduct site inspections for future projects, establish pre-mobilization work, and lead project follow-up through weekly schedule maintenance, quality control, and cost adherence. Maintain standard budgetary estimates and participate in RFQs for supplier and contractor selection. Work on a 14/14 rotation schedule (11 hours/day) in a camp operation with flights provided from Sudbury, Toronto, and Rouyn-Noranda.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate BSc in Mining Engineering
  • minimum 2 year of underground mining experience
  • Alternate engineering fields (i.e. Mechanical, Electrical, Civil) with sufficient mining related experience
  • Underground technical experience particularly in: CAD design, UG construction projects, scheduling and cost estimating
  • Excellent knowledge of underground construction methods
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
  • Deswik
  • SAP
  • Autocad
  • Promine
  • The schedule for this position is based in a camp operation working on an 14/14 rotation schedule (11 hours/day) with flights provided from Sudbury Toronto and Rouyn-Noranda

Desired Qualifications

  • Previous experience working with and/or for mining contracting companies
  • UG water management experience
  • UG material movement and hoisting circuit knowledge
  • UG backfill, specifically paste fill, experience
  • demonstrated a high level of energy, self motivation and strong organizational skills
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail, able to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, growing work environment
  • excellent oral and written communication skills
