Job Summary
Engineer-in-Training/Designer on the Roadway Design team who will contribute to public infrastructure roadway projects through both technical content and project-management tasks. Typical responsibilities include developing design plans, technical specifications, and cost estimates for public bidding; providing support and guidance for junior staff; client and sub-consultant management and coordination; tracking project budgets; delegating work tasks to supporting staff; and applying basic knowledge of survey data collection, land rights, and regulatory permitting. Preferred background includes Civil Engineering degree with internship or 1-4 years of progressive responsibility, and EIT is preferred. Strong collaboration in a team environment, solid communication skills, and ability to prioritize across multiple projects are expected.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree – Civil Engineering
- EIT preferred
- Relevant internship or 1-4 years’ experience of progressive responsibility in Civil Engineering
- Experience with AutoCAD and AutoTurn preferred
- Experience with MassDOT standards and deliverables a plus
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in team environment as an individual contributor
- Organized and able to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently across multiple projects and deliverables
- Ability to utilize critical thinking, judgment, and experience to define, analyze, and resolve issues
