Job Summary
Engineer-In-Charge at NYC Department of Design and Construction responsible for the design of capital roadways, sewers, and water mains; supervise a team of 4–6 engineers/technicians; coordinate with interagency and private utilities; review and prepare contract plans, estimates, specifications, and consultant design contracts; manage CPM schedules and provide construction support; assist in preparing consultant task orders and contract requirements. Requires ACI Concrete Field testing certification, OSHA 10-hour, and a valid NYS Professional Engineer’s license. Location: Long Island City, NY (onsite). No visa sponsorship; civil service title considerations noted; full-time role with 35 hours/week.”,
Required Qualifications
- A valid New York State Professional Engineer’s License
- Four (4) years of full-time, satisfactory experience in civil engineering work
- Master’s degree may substitute for one year of experience (optional)
- Masters degree may substitute for one year of experience in civil engineering
- ACi Concrete Field – Testing certification and OSHA 10-hour certification or ability to obtain via training
- United States work authorization (no visa sponsorship)
- Educational credentials from a US DOE-recognized institution (foreign credentials require evaluation)
