Job Summary
Design, develop, and execute verification plans, test strategies, and automated scripts for Clinical and Industrial Analyzer platforms. Perform functional, integration, system, and regression testing for desktop applications, instrument software, and hardware-software interactions while validating cybersecurity patches, SQL database integrity, and communication protocols. Reproduce customer-reported issues in laboratory environments, document defects and root cause observations, and support CI/CD initiatives through continuous testing practices. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure verification activities maintain traceability to system requirements and support regulatory compliance. Requires 12+ years of experience in Software Verification & Validation within regulated environments. Standard office hours (40/wk).
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or related discipline
- 12+ years of experience in Software Verification & Validation, Software Quality Engineering, Systems Verification, or Product Validation
- Experience testing desktop applications and instrument-based software systems
- Experience working in Agile development environments (Scrum, Kanban, or SAFe)
- Experience working in regulated environments such as Medical Devices, Clinical Diagnostics, Life Sciences, or Industrial Instrumentation
- Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, SDLC, STLC, and verification processes
- Experience designing comprehensive test strategies and verification plans
- Hands-on experience with automation frameworks such as Selenium, NUnit, TestComplete, or equivalent
- Working knowledge of C#.NET and/or C++ sufficient for understanding software implementation and debugging
- Experience validating Windows desktop applications and Linux-based software
- Experience with: Functional, Integration, System, Regression, and End-to-End Testing
- Multithreading and concurrency validation
- SQL database validation
- Communication protocols including TCP/IP, UDP, USB, and IPC
- XML and JSON data validation
- Windows and Linux operating system image validation
- Debugging tools and log analysis
- Git, Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and automated test execution
- Understanding of cybersecurity testing, software vulnerability validation, and secure software practices
- Ability to understand complex technical and scientific requirements and translate them into effective verification strategies
- Understanding of systems engineering principles, system architecture, and requirement decomposition
- Experience reviewing and validating system requirements, interface specifications, and design documentation
- Knowledge of requirements traceability throughout the product development lifecycle
- Familiarity with risk management activities including FMEA and impact analysis
- Understanding of hardware-software interactions and multidisciplinary product development
- Awareness of regulatory and quality requirements applicable to laboratory instrumentation and medical/clinical software
- Ability to evaluate system-level impacts of software changes across multiple subsystems
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent attention to detail with a quality-first mindset
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
- Effective collaboration across global cross-functional teams
- Ability to understand dependencies across hardware, software, systems, and customer workflows
- Ability to prioritize multiple activities and work effectively in a fast-paced development environment
Desired Qualifications
- Experience testing instrumentation or hardware-integrated software systems
- Experience with automation in regulated environments (Medical Devices, Clinical Diagnostics, or Laboratory Instrumentation)
- Knowledge of Object-Oriented Design principles
- Experience with system-level verification of complex electromechanical products
- Exposure to requirements management and traceability tools (e.g., DOORS, Polarion, Jama, or equivalent)
- Familiarity with reliability engineering concepts and product lifecycle validation
