Job Summary

Conduct engineering and related studies for high-voltage substations ranging from 13kV to 500kV, developing detailed project scopes, schematic drawings, and wiring diagrams for new and existing transmission facilities. Analyze and resolve complex problems in protection and control relaying applications, performing protective relay settings calculations based on IEEE and NERC standards. Manage multiple projects simultaneously to ensure timely design release, coordinate with field personnel for construction support, and produce accurate engineering release packages including drawings and bills of material. Provide technical guidance to the team while collaborating to maintain expertise in CAD software and electrical engineering principles.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program
  • 4 years of minimum required related experience
  • Professional Engineer Certifications/License
  • A Master's degree in Engineering will be considered in lieu of the B.S. Engineering degree
  • Must have obtained Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited program
  • A Master's degree in Engineering will be considered in lieu of the B.S. Engineering degree
  • Minimum of 6 years of engineering experience or 5 years of engineering experience with state registration as a Professional Engineer
  • A Master's degree in Engineering will be considered in lieu of the B.S. Engineering degree
  • Must possess all of the basic/required qualifications
  • This role requires the ability to work lawfully in the U.S. without employment-based immigration sponsorship, now or in the future

Desired Qualifications

  • A Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited program will be preferred
  • Passing grade on the Engineering Fundamentals Exam
  • Increasingly proficient in principles of project management
  • Experience in the utility industry
  • Department specific experience applicable to the hiring department
  • Demonstrated advancing application of engineering theories and principles
  • Increasingly proficient in practices of researching engineering and design issues, evaluating alternatives, preparing, and presenting recommendations
  • Ability to deal with a variety of individuals from various socio-economic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Proficient in engineering theories and principles
