Job Summary
Engineer III or IV – Storage will support preliminary and detailed engineering assignments, focusing on energy storage and renewable projects through 500kV. Responsibilities include designing utility scale substation and energy storage projects, coordinating design efforts with various stakeholders, providing technical support, mentoring junior engineers, and ensuring adherence to engineering standards. Candidates should have a BSEE degree, relevant experience (4+ years for Engineer III, 7+ years for Engineer IV), and a PE certification. Strong knowledge of engineering software, technical designs, and the T&D industry is preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or related Engineering program
- 4+ years of related experience for Engineer III or 7+ years for Engineer IV
- Professional Engineering (PE) certification
- Experience in researching engineering and design issues, evaluating alternatives, and making recommendations
- Understanding of technical designs, QA/QC procedures, and engineering policies
- Prior work experience in electrical background or acquired industry knowledge
Desired Qualifications
- Proficiency in engineering software packages and project controls software (e.g., Procore)
- Familiarity with CYMCAP, CDEGS, AutoCAD, Bluebeam
- Design optimization skills considering technical parameters and economic feedback
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Experience analyzing components and combinations with Microsoft Excel
- Experience in the T&D industry, with a preference for energy storage, solar, or wind design
