Job Summary
Engineer III – Electro-mechanical in a Power Tools Engineering team. Hybrid work arrangement (3 days in the Towson, MD office). Responsibilities include designing and developing electro-mechanical systems and motor controls using 3D modeling, managing BOMs in PLM, collaborating with cross-functional teams to define product requirements and quality attributes, releasing specifications and RFQ packets, partnering with suppliers and contract manufacturers for cost, quality, and timely delivery, developing electro-mechanical modules for power electronics and tools, performing tolerance stack-ups, DFMEA/PFMEA, process control plans, validating designs, conducting engineering analyses (structural, thermal, airflow, FEA), driving root cause analysis and continuous improvement in manufacturing, supporting regulatory documentation, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. Requires a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, 3-5 years of relevant experience, CATIA proficiency, knowledge of PCB design/integration, and strong GD&T and problem-solving skills. Salary range is $72,000 to $115,900 with comprehensive benefits; this role is not visa-sponsored. Required Qualifications
- B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
- 3-5 years of experience in product development of high-volume electronic modules and assemblies
- Proficient in 3D modeling software (CATIA preferred)
- ability to generate detailed 2D drawings
- Familiarity with printed circuit board design and integration
- Working knowledge of manufacturing processes for electronic and other products
- Demonstrated ability to design plastic and metallic components, working with a variety of materials
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including experience with GD&T, tolerance stack-ups, and failure analysis
- Experience with supplier development and working with contract manufacturers for key components
- 3-5 years of experience required
