Job Summary
Perform advanced maintenance, troubleshooting, inspections, and repairs on electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems. Utilize the CMMS work order system to prioritize, document, track, and complete maintenance activities while ensuring compliance with building codes, NFPA, Joint Commission standards, and hospital policies. Diagnose equipment issues using specialized tools, maintain safety protocols, and adhere to patient care and infection prevention requirements. Respond to after-hours, emergency, and inclement weather situations as needed to support facility operations. Participate in departmental improvement initiatives, training, emergency response, and continuous professional development.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum four (4) years of experience in facilities maintenance, engineering, or a related trade
- Valid driver's license
- Must be able to work outside of regularly scheduled shifts
- Must be able to work in inclement weather
- Must be able to work in situations of emergency
- Must be able to adopt and utilize the CMMS work order system
- Must be able to comply with building codes
- Must be able to comply with NFPA standards
- Must be able to comply with Joint Commission/accrediting standards
- Must be able to comply with life safety requirements
- Must be able to comply with hospital policies
- Must be able to adhere to patient care requirements
- Must be able to adhere to infection prevention requirements
- Must be able to adhere to ICRA requirements
- Must be able to utilize appropriate PPE
- Must be able to follow established infection control procedures
- Must be able to maintain compliance with hospital safety policies
- Must be able to maintain compliance with Life Safety Program
- Must be able to maintain compliance with Emergency Preparedness
- Must be able to complete required training
- Must be able to use appropriate safety equipment
- Must be able to respond to after-hours situations
- Must be able to respond to emergency situations
- Must be able to respond to inclement weather situations
- Must be able to pass a post offer, pre-employment drug test
