Job Summary
Engineer II, Software Test responsible for quality control, creating and maintaining test plans, analyzing requirements, addressing gaps and risks, and ensuring traceability across project milestones. Develop and maintain test cases and test plans, perform automated and manual testing including functional, performance and stress testing, and manage defect submission, reviews, and root-cause analysis. Collaborate within an Agile/Scrum environment to deliver test deliverables compliant with SOPs and project direction. Proficiency with embedded devices/instruments, black box testing techniques, and automated testing tools such as pytest and Squish; experience with Linux systems and familiarity with 21 CFR part 11 systems is advantageous. The role supports preparation of final test reports and contributes to product quality and delivery for Thermo Fisher Scientific.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred in Computer Science or Electrical/Electronics related major
- 3 to 5 years experience in Agile/Scrum development environment
- Knowledge of quality control methodologies and tools
- Hands-on experience in Black box testing techniques for embedded devices/instruments
- Experience with automated testing (pytest, Squish)
- Experience writing clear, concise test artifacts (test cases, test recording, test reports)
- Linux experience
- Testing experience with 21 CFR part 11 systems will be an advantage
