Job Summary
As an entry level Engineer, perform engineering tasks related to the analysis, construction, maintenance, and operation of electrical Transmission and Distribution equipment. Participate in FirstEnergy's two-year Rotational Engineering Program, complete four six-month rotations, manage assigned activities, conduct technical research, prepare engineering documentation, ensure compliance with standards, and deliver customer service. Requires a B.S. degree in Engineering, strong communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and a commitment to safety.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors of Science degree in Electrical, Civil or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited institution
- Acceptable alternatives include a Professional Engineer’s (PE) License or an advanced degree in Electrical, Civil or Mechanical Engineering from a university with an ABET accredited Bachelor’s program
- Ability to incorporate safety into project designs
- Ability to work collaboratively to achieve team goals
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to develop positive working relationships
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
Desired Qualifications
- Participation in an Engineering Co-op or Internship program preferred
- Familiarity with National Electrical Code (NEC), safety and other applicable codes
- Familiarity with AutoCAD applications preferred
